Latisse

Latisse® for Eye Lashes

Wolstan & Goldberg Eye Associates offer Latisse®, the first FDA approved prescription to treat hypotricosis and make eyelashes grow longer, thicker and darker. It was approved in December of 2008, but is a version of a glaucoma drug called bimatoprost that has been used since 2001. It was noted soon after the first patients used this medication that they developed longer darker eyelashes over time. The true mechanism of the hair growth is still being investigated, but it is believed Latisse® lengthens the hair growth (anagen) phase and causes more hairs to grow

Latisse

Latisse® is applied by dabbing it on the upper lash line each night with sterile applicators. The drug spreads to your lower lash line automatically as you blink. The medication should never be applied to the bottom lashes directly and it is recommended that you wash your face, remove any makeup and take out any contact lens prior to application.

  • Eyelash length increased by 25 percent
  • Thickness and fullness increased by 106 percent
  • Eyelash darkness increased by 18 percent.

When all study participants stop using Latisse®, their eyelashes gradually return to their former state. To see if Latisse® is right for you, feel free to talk to our physicians at Wolstan & Goldberg Eye Associates.
